Large asteroid in near miss with Earth on April 19

PARIS, France — An asteroid as big as the Rock of Gibraltar will streak past Earth on April 19 at a safe but uncomfortably close distance, according to astronomers. “Although there is no possibility for the asteroid to collide with our planet, this will be a very close approach for an asteroid this size,” NASA […]

Ben and Jennifer Step Out in LA the Same Day They Filed For Divorce

Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck were spotted on separate outings around LA on Wednesday, the same day they filed for divorce together after announcing their split back in June 2015. Ben appeared to be in a somber mood as he got into his car, while Jen seemed a little more upbeat as she chatted on her phone and held on to a white envelope and water bottle with their daughter Violet’s name on it.

This week, it was revealed that Ben and Jen carried through on their plans to divorce despite recent rumors that they had called off their split. People reported that the former couple filed together and without lawyers – both pretty rare moves in Hollywood. They are also both seeking joint legal and physical custody of their three children, Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel.

A dose of inspiration from Jodi Sta. Maria

Jodi Sta. Maria has been using the power of social media to inspire others. Her Instagram page is filled with messages that highlight the importance of faith and the love in God in our daily lives. Read some of her most inspiring posts to date in time for reflection this Lenten season.

God is the source of everything. Everything you see in the world and everything you can’t see in the world and in the universe, God made. He’s the source of every good thing. As you depend on God as your source for everything, there are four truths you need to remember. First, EVERYTHING IS A GIFT FROM GOD Nothing you have, have you earned. It’s all a gift of God’s grace. If God didn’t want to give it, you wouldn’t have it. The Bible tells us in James 1:17, “Every good and perfect gift is from above” (NIV). That’s why the Lord’s Prayer in this third phrase starts with the word “give.” “Give us this day our daily bread.” Why? Because it is a gift. You can’t earn it. Second, THERE’S NOTHING YOU NEED THAT GOD CAN’T PROVIDE. You don’t know what you’re going to need the rest of this year. But whatever it is, God has the power to supply it. The Bible says this in Philippians 4:19: “My God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.” Glorious resources means as lavish as only God can lavish. God has unlimited resources. Third, GOD WANTS TO GIVE EVERYTHING YOU NEED. Matthew 7:11 says, “If you … know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!” God wants to meet your need. And, here’s the fourth thing: HE IS WAITING ON YOU. If you have needs in your life that are not being met, it’s not God’s fault. You’re not waiting on God. He’s waiting on you! The problem is not that God doesn’t want to meet your need; the problem is that you never ask him for it. James 4:2 says, “You do not have because you do not ask God.” Good morning!! ?

More than 2000 years ago there was a man born contrary to the laws of nature. He laid aside his purple robe for a peasant’s tunic. He was rich, yet for our sake he became poor. This man lived in poverty and was raised in obscurity. He received no formal education and never possessed wealth or widespread influence. He never traveled extensively. He seldom crossed the boundary of the country in which he lived. But this man’s life has changed the course of history. In infancy he startled a king. In childhood he amazed religious scholars. In manhood he ruled the course of nature—walked on stormy waves and hushed the raging sea to sleep. He healed multitudes without medicine and made no charge for his services. He never practiced psychiatry. Yet he has healed more broken hearts than all the doctors far and near. He never wrote a book. Yet his life has inspired more books than any other man. He never wrote a song. Yet he has furnished the theme for more songs than all songwriters combined. He never founded a college, but all the schools put together cannot boast of having as many students. He never marshaled an army. He never drafted a soldier or fired a gun. Yet no leader ever had more rebels surrender to him without a shot fired. Herod could not kill him. Satan could not seduce him. His enemies could not destroy him. The grave could not hold him. After three days he rose from the dead, alive forevermore! He is the ever-perfect One. He is the Christ, the Son of the living God. This man stands forth upon the highest pinnacle of heavenly glory, proclaimed by God, acknowledged by angels, adored by his people, and feared by demons as the risen Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. – The Incomparable Jesus #jesusmysavior #lovejesus #jesus

repost via @instarepost20 from @desiringgod “We cannot kill anxiety, despair, or fear with well-written to-do lists and well-planned schedules. Rather, in all of our circumstances, it would be good for us to heed the words of Paul with new-morning mercies in mind: ‘Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.’ (Philippians 4:6–7) God is with us through Christ and, by the Spirit, his promises for new mercies are as real and trustworthy today as they were yesterday. So, let’s go to him often, cast our cares honestly, and trust him for the peace that far surpasses our limited understanding and that guards our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Rest well tonight, and tomorrow morning, in Jesus.” Read more at desiringGod.org // Link in profile. http://www.desiringgod.org/articles/new-mercies-every-morning

God is a caring, loving, compassionate father. He loves you more than you will ever understand. He loves you more than you can ever comprehend. God is love, and he made you to love you. He is loving toward you in everything that he does, and his compassion is his most outstanding quality. God is a caring father. The Bible says in Psalm 103:13, “As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him” (NIV). He cares about everything in your life — compassionately. Most of the disciples were professional fishermen. One day when they were out fishing, Jesus got tired and curled up in one end of the boat and went to sleep. When a storm came up, it shouldn’t have bothered the disciples. As fishermen, they were used to storms. But this must have been a big one, because they got scared. The ship was rocking and rolling, and water was coming into the boat. They were frantic and woke up Jesus to ask him one of the most important questions in life: “Lord, don’t you care?” You and I ask that question of God all the time and in a thousand ways: “God, did you see that doctor’s report? Don’t you care? Do you see what a mess my marriage is in? Don’t you care? Do you see how little money we’ve got in the bank and all the bills we’ve got? Don’t you care? Do you see how my kids are struggling in school? Don’t you care? You know this fear that grips my mind that I can’t seem to get rid of. Don’t you care?” The answer is yes, God cares. In fact, he cares more than you care. He wants to help more than you want help. He knows what will help you more than you know what will help you. He is aware, and he cares. “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you” (1 Peter 5:7). If you knew and felt how much your heavenly Father cares compassionately and constantly about you, you’d have to love him back. If you feel like God is a million miles away, it’s because you don’t understand the kind of caring Father he really is. That understanding is the first step to inner peace. Celebrities share their personal reflections during Holy Week (Part 2)

041517-Reflections2_PUSH.jpgRobi Domingo

“There are lots of things to reflect on definitely especially with what happened to my life. Kasi overwhelming itong first few months ng buhay ko itong taon na ito. So I have to think about and assess what happened and kung talaga bang dapat mangyari yun and siyempre if you reflect on something kailangan hindi natatapos dun eh. May action naman.”

Yassi Pressman

“More than anything, it’s the time to be thankful and the time to remember why we’re all here and why we were forgiven and what happened on the cross. It’s the time talaga to say thank you for why we’re here.”

Director Paul Soriano

“To just be thankful for what we have, and focus on our relationship with God. Just be thankful for what it is we have now and set goals and set dreams for the rest of the year.”

Gab Valenciano

“Honestly, Holy Week is one of my favorite times of the year because it’s the time where me and my family are together with nothing to think about. Kasi siyempre pagka-holidays may gifts di ba? Amg daming ganun eh. Pero I still love holidays naman in terms of Christmas and everything. Pero pag Holy Week kasi kumbaga kayo lang eh. I don’t even have to wait until the New Year to make a resolution. Para sa akin, Holy Week is just a good time to just sit down and tell yourself what you can do better. And also of course to give thanks to the Lord for everything that He’s done for us.”

Liza Diño

“Siguro dahil ngayon nasa government na ako so mas na-e-experience ko firsthand yung struggle nung having to deal with everybody’s opinions. So siguro it’s a perfect time to really ask how are we contributing to be a part of the solution? Instead of just always complaining left and right about the problems. Kasi andiyan lagi yan and it’s going to be hard to push for what we want and the ideal things that we want. So for me one thing I learned when I became part of the government is to find realistic approaches on how you will resolve things and I think that’s one thing that we can start with.”

Mikee Cojuangco

“Well it’s a constant thing for me to always try to step back and be grateful for all the blessings that I know I have and to ask the Lord how He wants to use me to be an instrument of His work here on Earth. Minsan may mga bagay na nasa harap natin pero hindi naman natin na-ri-realize na ito na pala yung direksyon na gusto sa iyo ng Panginoon. Na yun na pala yung talents na gusto Niyang gamitin mo and I think sometimes when we’re so busy with so many things we really need to be deliberate about it. And Holy Week is the perfect time for that of course.”

Ogie Alcasid

“Holy Week is a time to sit back and relax and it’s actually a time to rejoice because the Lord is risen. The Lord already paid for our sins and it’s a time for us to rejoice because we are already saved by Jesus Christ.”

Edu Manzano

“Of course it’s a time for families to get together. I think people should reflect on if they have been good, if they have been responsible, positive members of society, and if we’ve been good parents. I always like to reflect on that.”

Lorna Tolentino

“I like to reflect if I’ve been a good grandmother. Andun na ko eh (laughs). To reflect for good health also.

Ivan Dorschner

“The absence of responsiblity. There should be freedom. You should have release. Kasi habang wala pa tayong vacation or masyadong free time, na-bi-build up yung stress so kailangan mag-fo-focus tayo sa pag-release ng tensions, stress, para refresher course naman. Para siyang hot towel sa airplane pag matagal biyahe? When you get that hot towel and you put it on your face, you’re ready to go. Okay I’m ready to take my seatbelt off and get my luggage and continue on my journey.”

Christian Bautista

“I’m going to reflect on what’s my next direction and what does God want me to do with my life. Most of the time yun lang talaga naman ang lagi kong rini-reflect.”

Kiana Valenciano excited about Gary Valenciano’s upcoming concert with Sam Concepcion

041517-KeanaValenciano2_PUSH.jpgBlooming at happy ngayon ang only daughter ni Mr. Pure Energy Gary Valenciano na si Kiana Valenciano nang nakapanayam natin ito sa kick-off party ng Manila X (Music and Fashion festival) event kung saan isa siya sa mga performer.

“I’m very happy and excited because this will be the biggest music festival in the country and only one of its kind so I’m honored to be part of this exciting event for the second time,” panimula ng dalaga.

Aminado si Kiana na mas malapit pa din sa puso niya ang musika dahil sa impluwensiya ng kanyang mga magulang.

“I think music kasi I grew up with that talaga and this is part of who I am. But the interest in fashion will continue to grow pa din,” kuwento pa ni Kiana.

Bukod dito excited din si Kiana para sa nakatakdang US tour ng kanyang ama na kung saan unang beses nila magtatanghal kasama ang kanyang boyfriend na si Sam Concepcion.

“Excited and nervous (laughs) kasi we haven’t done that before. I mean, we have pero best friend ko palang si Sam (at the time). But now it’s exciting kasi we get to travel and I’m thankful siyempre with my parents kasi they always give their full support to me.”

Dahil sa romantic na love story ni Kiana at Sam na best friends to lovers, ilan sa mga tagahanga nila ang nagbibigay suporta sa kanilang pagmamabutihan na ipinagpasalamat naman ni Kiana.

“Ako hindi ako sanay sa nga love team, love team kasi most of my past relationships are kept in private. But it’s nice to know that there are people who support our relationship and I kind of like it,” pagtatapos na kuwento ni Kiana.

Jesy Nelson and Perrie Edwards Flaunt Their Killer Figures on the Beach in Miami

Who needs boys when you have your best girlfriend to cheer you up? After reportedly calling it quits with fellow English star Chris Clark, Little Mix’s Jesy Nelson hit the beach in Miami on Thursday with her bandmate Perrie Edwards. The two enjoyed some fun in the sun as they walked around sipping on drinks and holding hands. Aside from showing off their sweet friendship, they also flaunted their incredible figures as they strolled through the sand wearing matching Calvin Klein tops and cutoff shorts. No telling whether another jam-worthy breakup track like “Shout Out to My Ex” will come out of Jesy’s new relationship status, but we are certainly loving the girls’ incredible bond.
