Pia Wurtzbach evades questions about Marlon Stockinger’s recent Instagram post

050517-PiaWurtzbach_PUSH.jpgPia Wurtzbach finally took the time to speak up amid the endless controversies that have been hounding her.

During her contract signing as the UNAIDS Goodwill Ambassador for Asia and Pacific, Miss Universe 2015 admitted that she doesn’t let them affect her.

“I just continue on working. Alam ko na it’s really part of the job,” she began.

Pia recognized the fact that she’s facing a lot of things at the moment.

“Sometimes you get a lot of stones thrown at you, but that’s how it is,” she said.

Despite everything, the titleholder remains positive that she can triumph over the issues.

“I think I’ve gone through a lot already and I know how to handle certain situations,” said Pia.

“But that doesn’t take away my focus from the real issues on what I really have to do as Miss Universe ambassador… new ambassador for UNAIDS,” she continued.

Pia’s boyfriend Marlon Stockinger recently figured in a controversy after model Kit Barraquias claimed that he was allegedly the biological father of her twins.

The beauty queen, in a previous interview, asked if the press got the “right Marlon” because “There’s a lot of Marlons.” Pia claimed in that interview that she doesn’t know anything about that.

Just a week ago though, Marlon got his followers curious when he posted a photo of themselves with an intriguing caption of “nothing’s changed.”

Nothing’s changed. 😉 @raymundisaac

Quite interestingly, Pia opted not to comment about Marlon’s post.

“I’m still a hardworking Binibini and Miss Universe,” she said with a smile.

With all the issues she’s facing, Pia emphasized that she would like to focus more on her HIV awareness advocacy.

Iza Calzado, Bea Alonzo reveal what they have learned from ‘A Love To Last’

“Para sa akin intindi ko rin yung mother who’s fighting for the right of her children. Mahirap din pala!” sabi pa ng aktres

Titindi pa ang mga eksena na dapat abangan sa A Love To Last kayat dapat itong tutukan gabi sa primetime bida ng ABS-CBN.

Alexa Ilacad on Nash Aguas: ‘We’re taking it really, really slow’

050517-AlexaIlacad_PUSH.jpgBecause of her debut album To The Moon and Back, Alexa Ilacad said she will be busy this year promoting it before her next acting project. “I’m going to start having mall shows again for my album and I think we’re going to start taping our new teleserye under Dreamscape. I just finished grade 11 so I’m moving up na,” she shared during the launch of the SM Beauty Pro Card this month in Makati city.

The 17-year-old Star Magic talent said it’s not true her longtime love team with Nash Aguas has already broken up. “No naman, parang siguro nag-break lang kami to fulfill other tasks and si Nash kasi nag-ka-college siya so naging busy siya sa school. Ako din. Kasi wala ng home school for senior high. So ayun medyo naging busy na rin kami. And walang nabibigay na project pa before kaya hindi rin kami masyado visible sa TV but we do guestings and sometimes nag-mo-mall show rin kami together. So hindi naman mag-sa-stop ang NLex, break lang,” she explained.

Apart from their respective studies, Alexa admitted they are also very busy focusing on their new albums with Nash still preparing for his launch this year. “Ngayon kasi meron kaming dalawa na albums na separate so medyo nag-fo-focus kami dun. Lalo na sila mag-lo-launch pa lang. Eh ako continuous yung mall shows ko. Pero babalik kami for taping pang-teleserye ulit,” she added.

Off camera, Alexa says her friendship with Nash is still the same because of their priorities. “Actually we’re taking it really, really slow. Yung ganun. Kasi sobrang yung focus ko talaga nandito sa singing and acting ko and I spend all of my time for that. So wala talaga akong panahon pa kahit gusto ko hindi talaga. Siguro next time na lang and okay naman he understands. And siya din yung focus niya is to provide for his family and sobrang good yun and understandable. So super taking it slow and wala naman reason para magmadali kasi 17 lang ako, siya 18. Mahaba pa tatakbuhin nun,” she explained.

To their many fans, Alexa had this message about NLex. “Yung mga fans namin they’re very consistent sa pag-ti-tweet nila, sa pag-su-support nila kahit pa naka-break kami ngayon sa projects so I’m very thankful. Let’s just all be patient kasi it will come naman talaga. Siguro we can give chance to others muna. Hindi naman kami walang projects ngayon. We have our own albums and malay nila one day magkaroon kami ng mall show together. Our teleserye is actually coming so I hope they wait for it,” she said.

Wall Street is fretting about an advertising market slowdown

A slowdown in advertising spending and a rise in cord-cutting by pay-TV customers is giving Wall Street fresh jitters about the health of the television industry.

During the first quarter of the year, an estimated 762,000 pay-TV customers unplugged their satellite or cable TV subscriptions — a…

Bianca King says she learned to be ‘minimalist’ after losing an acting job

“Dumating na ako sa point na I have to do something with my life.

“Yung isang taon na ‘yun, nag-travel ako out of the country, halos every month, because of my travel blog. So a lot of the destinations that I traveled were all sponsored trips, pati ‘yung pagpunta ko ng Europe, Bali, Korea were all free because of my blog.

“So, ’yun, nagsulat ako for my blog and publications as well and nagho-host pa rin ako ng events and a lot of social media,” lahad niya.

“Parang naisip ko na… that was a good round of my career. Now it’s time to grow, to spread my wings, to simplify my life actually. Kasi nga nawala ‘yung regular income na malaki, so naging minimalist ako.”

Ibig sabihin, ‘tipidelya’ (nagtipid) muna ang beauty niya?

“Ganu’n siguro ‘yung masang term, pero sosyal na term is minimalist,” tawa niya.

“Actually, ni-renovate ko rin ‘yung bahay ko that time, so binenta ko ‘yung kalahati ng gamit ko, kasi ayoko ng maraming gamit. ‘Tapos nagtanggal ako ng PA (personal assistant) and all that.

“And about expectations, ako, no expectatons talaga kasi pumasok ako dito sa show (Pusong Ligaw) na ito with an open mind, no judgments and I think bilang tao, mahalagang mag-take ng risk,” pagtatapos ni Bianca.

Director Dan Villegas says he’s okay with Ikaw Lang Ang Iibigin’s time slot

Parang when you check your social media tuwang-tuwa ang mga tao.

“Okay lang, kasi parang ang mas importante at the end of the day ang ikukuwento mo yung story mo e. Andito ako to tell the story regardless sa time slot I will continue pa din to tell the story,” paliwanag pa ng direktor.

Parang they have a point.

Gustavo Dudamel speaks out about Venezuela

Under normal conditions, the news about Gustavo Dudamel this weekend would focus on his return to Walt Disney Concert Hall after a three-month absence to begin a rare cycle of Schubert symphonies.

But these are not normal conditions.
