Batangas village chief nabbed over illegal firearm

A village chief has been arrested for keeping an unlicensed firearm in his residence in Lipa City in Batangas province, police said. Chief Inspector Zyrus Serrano, Batangas Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) provincial officer, said the suspect, Barangay (village) San Guillermo Chairman Rodelio Fajutag, 60, was arrested in
his own village on May 25.

Sa TV Patrol, ibinalita na binisita ng aktres na si Angel Locsin ang mga refugees sa Marawi City kung saan may nagaganap na gera.

Ani Angel, “non-stop naman yung mga tunog ng baril, ng bomba. Nakakakaba pero kung kayo nga nandito di ba? Ako naman ginagawa ko lang yung part ko, nandito ako kasi parang nabalitaan ko na parang maraming refugees dito.”

Hiling ni Angel, “sana matapos na ‘to para makabalik na sila sa mga tahanan nila. Makapagsimula na. Yun lang naman ang lagi kong naririnig na hinihingi ng mga tao. Para rin sa mga nag-aantay sa mga sundalo, makauwi na sila sa mga pamilya nila.”

Ayon sa report ni Jeff Canoy, meron na ngayong 48,000 pamilya ang lumikas dahil sa kaguluhang nagaganap sa Marawi City.

A police chief and jail guards in the cities of San Pedro and Sta. Rosa have been relieved following two separate attacks in police detention cells in Laguna province. In San Pedro City, the police chief, Supt. Harold Depositar and two other jail guards were relieved on May 24, following the escape of six detainees, among them considered a high-value target for arrest in the illegal drug trade. The detainees, most of them facing charges for illegal drugs, escaped by cutting the cell’s steel bar around 4:30 a.m. on May 23.
