Solon seeks swift approval of proposed bill regulating e-cigs

Ako Bicol Rep. Rodel Batocabe is urging the House Committee on Health to fast track the approval of House Bill No. 3330 entitled the “Vaporized Nicotine Product Regulation Act” which seeks to regulate the use, sale, packaging, distribution and advertisements of vaporized nicotine products such as electronic cigarettes.

The indictment by Ombudsman Conchita Carpio Morales of former President Benigno Aquino III in connection with the Mamasapano massacre has prompted calls in the House of Representatives and the Senate for the revival of their investigations of the slaughter of 44 Special Action Force (SAF) commandos by Moro rebels on Jan. 25, 2015.

Optometrists cry foul over new requirements

A group of optometrists has raised objections to the operational guidelines drafted by the Board of Optometry for a law requiring practitioners to earn educational units to renew their licenses, saying the board was allowing the retroactive application of points earned prior to the full implementation of the law this month.
