“#LivinLaVidaKira: Kira Balinger exudes elegance at her Havana-themed 18th birthday party”

Kira Balinger’s eighteenth birthday at Discovery Primea Makati last Friday (August 3) was an intimate gathering of family and friends, all dressed to the nines in formal Havana chic.

Given her busy schedule, it is a rare moment for the actress to have all her loved ones in the same room. According to the debutant a grand party was not top of her mind but seeing everyone dear to her in celebration of her big day was not something she wanted to miss out on.

Aside from her family, the event was also well-attended by Kira’s friends, especially the ones she made in the industry through the years. Instead of the traditional roses, Kira was offered tropical flowers and a slow dance for her Florecer, beginning with the main man in her life, dad Tony Balinger. Rumored boyfriend Ryle Santiago ended the Florecer with a serenade of his own.

Las Linternas, similar to the traditional eighteen candles, followed right after dinner. Her friends only had the warmest sentiments for Kira. Ylona Garcia, one of Kira’s closest friends in the industry, assured the young star of her friendship. “You are my best friend, and I’m here for you through anything. You can always talk to me, you can always call me,” she said during the program.

All of Kira’s friends echoed the same sentiments about her sincerity, openness, and friendliness. “Every time na nagkikita tayo, you always made me feel like I’m welcome,” Elisse Joson shared as part of the eighteen Linternas. “Parang ayaw mong may nale-left out. You’re always there to be with someone, to be there for the person,” she added.

In the showbiz industry such sincere friendship is definitely a rare find. Ashley Colet, another Star Magic artist, summed up their shared sentiments wonderfully when she said, “Name all the beautiful things in the world, butterflies and rainbows, and that’s you, girl.”

Kira also did a special song number, singing Camila Cabello’s hit “Havana.”

“Liza Diño dumipensa sa malisyosong balita laban sa FDCP”

Nilinaw ng Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) Chairperson Liza Diño ang mga naglabasan na mga balita kamakailan tungkol sa kinukuwestiyon na pondo ng kanyang tanggapan.

Ito ay matapos ang inilabas na Commision on Audit na report tungkol sa kuwestiyonableng 25 Million na pondo ng FDCP na ipina-utang sa mga independent film makers.

“Actually, there was a loan program done by the previous administration, itong loan program na ito para siyang film fund. Pero ang nangyari kasi, imbes na grant, naging loan program na kailangan bayaran,” bungad ni Liza.

“Unfortunately of course kung ang subject especially ay art film, it’s really hard for the film makers to pay for this project,” sabi pa niya.

“Tinigil namin ang program as soon as I got in (the position) and we’re trying to come up with the payment plan na hindi din magiging mabigat sa mga film makers,” paliwanag ni Liza.

“Parang para sa akin, how can you expect them to pay in full what we gave them? But of course kontrata yan, pumirma sila so gumagawa lang kami ng paraan kung paano kami makikipag coordinate sa mga film makers, to help each other. We want to help them,” dagdag pa niya.

In what way? Pwede ba na in return of service? Pwede bang mag direk sila ng isang project for FDCP? Something like that. Para naman hindi monetary lang ang maging way (of payment),” pahayag pa ni Liza.

Sa ngayon, kasalukuan na pinaghahandaan ng FDCP ang ika-dalawang taon ng Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino (PPP) na mapapanuod simula August 15.

Update on GLOW Season 3: There’s Still No GLOW Season 3 . . . Yet

Netflix’s glam wrestling series GLOW is in a rather strange position right now. In just the last few months alone, the show has earned a handful of Emmy nods (including outstanding comedy series!) and pulled off a pretty spectacular second season. In spite of the fact that a third season seems like a given – plus, there’s the fact that GLOW was a part of Netflix’s huge TCA press day – the show has not technically been renewed.

At the TCA day in question, which was held on July 29, vice president of original content Cindy Holland didn’t even have a definitive answer for the fate of the series. Given the fact that GLOW only just dropped new episodes on June 29, she said it shouldn’t come as that much of a surprise. “We generally have some number of months after a season launches to start to evaluate the data and figure it out,” she said. This supposed data can take many different forms. “Are we getting enough viewership to justify the cost of series?” she asked, then noted Netflix also looks at “how beloved the fan community is, [and] how social the title is.”

Meanwhile, during the actual planned GLOW panel, the creative minds behind the series had similar sentiments. “These panels are usually to announce a season three,” cocreator Carly Mensch said with a shrug. “Unfortunately we don’t have a season three.” That said, the group remains pretty optimistic and even dropped a small hint about the next chapter and how Las Vegas might feasibly factor in. “We have a lot of dreams for how we’re going to shoot the show,” Mensch continued. “We’re not going to give away exactly what our intentions are . . . Las Vegas has changed a lot since 1986, so unfortunately a lot of locations we’d like to shoot in are not there anymore.” Consider us more intrigued than ever. Rest assured that if we do get any renewal news, you’ll be the first to hear about it.

Kim Kardashian Just Shared a New Snap of Chicago and True on the Cutest Play Date

Best friends for life!!!! 💕

A post shared by Kim Kardashian West (@kimkardashian) on Aug 3, 2018 at 11:32am PDT

Could the Kardashian babies get any cuter? On Friday, Kim shared a sweet photo of her and Khloé’s daughters, 6-month-old Chicago and 3-month-old True, during playtime. Along with the adorable shot of the duo, Kim wrote, “Best friends for life!!!! 💕.” Since the Kardashian sisters are well-known for being incredibly close, it’s no shock that their daughters will likely grow up to be the same. The cousins are four months apart, but that obviously doesn’t stop them from spending some quality tummy time with one another! We can’t wait to see more of the two as they get older and even more adorable.

In AMC’s sweet ‘Lodge 49,’ the mundane meets the marvelous

If I wind up sounding a little daffy on the subject of “Lodge 49,” a 10-part series beginning Tuesday on AMC, it is in part that it feels like I have been sent a gift, tailor-made to my sensibilities. An hour-long comedy, rich with dramatic complication and depth of feeling, it is not without crises…
