Actress Angel Locsin was named by Forbes Asia as one of its 30 notable charity donors for its annual Heroes of Philantrophy list, which was released on Monday.

The list, which featured philantrophists who are “committed to solving some of the most pressing issues facing the Asia-Pacific”, recognized “The General’s Daughter” star’s efforts in giving out aid to victims of violence and natural disasters. Among which was Angel’s active participation in giving out aid to affected residents in the aftermath of a series of earthquakes in Mindanao, as well as her contribution to helping tens of thousands of displaced victims during the 2017 battle military and Islamist rebels in Marawi.

Just last September, Angel directly donated the money she would’ve used for the annual ABS-CBN Ball to its beneficiary, Bantay Bata 163.

“Over the past decade, Locsin has donated as much as P15 million to causes such as educational scholarships for students, supporting the economic and political rights of indigenous people, and ending violence against women and children,” Forbes said of the 34-year-old.

“It’s like taking little steps towards substantive, holistic change for the future of the next generations,” the magazine quoted Angel as saying. “The only motivation we need is being part of humanity.”

Aside from Angel, Hans Sy, who currently sits as chairman and director of his family’s SM Prime Holdings, also made it to the Forbes’ list.

Others personalities on the list are Alibaba founder Jack Ma, Korean actress and singer IU, India’s Wipro founder Azim Premji, and Malaysia’s Sunway Group chairman Jeffrey Cheah.

Triputra Group founder Theodore Rachmat, JN Projects founder Judith Neilson, Fortescue Metals Group chairman Andrew Forrest, Minderoo Foundation cofounder Nicola Forrest, Nicola Forrest, Long Thanh Golf Investment and Trading Joint-Stock Company’s Le Van Kiem and Tran Cam Nhung, Amorepacific Group CEO Suh Kyung-bae, Hengyu Group founder Gong Junlong, Green City Group chairman Wu Yuanxi and Hanking Group chair Wu Yuangang, and Hexaware Technologies’ Atul Nishar were also recognized.
