Never naman silang ikinasal.”

“I guess may law tayo na and I assumed na if hindi naman kasal then I’ll take my mother’s maiden name, right? So, Matias and for my whole life I’ve been Matias. In school, in both States and the Philippines, Matias po yung apilyedo ko. So, that would probably be the reason why I don’t use Bautista as a last name,” dagdag na paliwanang ni Race sa PUSH.

It’s not like… kasi tinanong niya ako dati kung gusto ko bang ipalit yung pangalan ko to Bautista. Sinabi niya, ‘Oh, you want to change your name to Bautista?’ Sabi ko, ‘Why, what’s wrong with Matias?’

“Tapos sabi niya, ‘So that you could prove na I’m your dad.’ And then tinanong ko, ‘Eh, how can I prove na she (Eloisa) is my mom?’ parang ganun, tapos nainis siya sa mom ko na bakit kung anu-ano raw ang itinuturo sa akin, pero joke lang. They’re best friends and I love them both,” kuwento ng binata na introducing sa pelikulang Indak na pinagbibidahan nina Nadine Lustre at Sam Concepcion.

“Yung paggamit ko ng Bautista was never really a factor as to why I would wish them to be together. I want them to be together because they would be happy together. But if they would both be happy bilang separate, okey lang din, I don’t have a problem with that.

“I guess, if my father found someone that makes him happy and that someone is not my mom, I’m okey with that. And same goes for my mom basta they’re both happy. I mean, we all want our parents to be happy,” lahad pa niya.

We prefer to keep a low profile as ironic as it sounds kahit na nasa showbiz industry kami we prefer low profile lives.

“That’s what we want to have at some point, na business is business, this is the career that we chose, but we also haver our own personal lives to attend to,” kaswal niyang pahayag.

Natatawa niyang kuwento, “I used to before.

But I was still a loser after that, that didn’t change but you know for a moment there I was very proud na my dad is better than all your dads,” natatawa niyang pagre-recall.

Hahaha!” pa-humble niyang tugon. “Joke lang, I don’t know, I mean he can’t deny the fact na mas matangkad ako sa kanya. I don’t see myself as very good looking,” huling pahayag niya sa PUSH.
