MANILA, Philippines — Forty-one fire incidents were recorded in Metro Manila during the New Year revelry, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said Wednesday.
In a statement, BFP-National Capital Region said the fire incidents were recorded from Dec. 31 at 8 a.m. to Jan. 1. It was higher than last year’s 11 fire incidents.
Of the 41, 13 were from fire station in Northern area of National Capital Region; nine each in Quezon City and Manila; and five each in Eastern part of Metro Manila and Metro Manila south.
BFP said even if the leading cause of fire is due to faulty electrical wiring, it advised the public to be more aware with fire prevention.
