Philippine National Police (PNP) Director General Chief Ronald “Bato Dela Rosa revealed on Monday that it’s possible that Ozamiz Chief of Police Senior Inspector Jovie Espenido would be transferred in another drug infested province.
”Mag-determine muna tayo kung sino ang next target.” PNP Chief Dela Rosa told the media during a press conference in camp crame.
However, Dela Rosa said that PNP must validate all the information first before assigning the so called ‘drug terminator’ in another province.
“Mag-determine muna tayo kung sino’ng next na target, doon natin siya ilipat. Hintay muna tayo. I-validate muna natin kung saan siya puwedeng ilipat,” he said.
Dela Rosa said that many LGUs wanted Espenido to be assigned in their province to solve their illegal drug problem.
The PNP Chief also revealed that Espenido is going to receive an award from the organization for his achievements in fighting illegal drugs in Albuera, Leyte and Ozamiz City.
Espenido would receive “special award for anti-illegal drugs campaign” after he led the biggest and most successful anti-drug raid in history of Ozamiz City which resulted to the death of Mayor Aldong Parojinog Sr., Board Member Octavio Parojinog and 13 others.
The drug raid also resulted to the arrest of Vice Mayor Nova Parojinog and other members of Parojinog clan.
Before he was assigned to Ozamiz City, Espenido also nabbed former Albuera Mayor Rolando Espinosa Sr., an alleged narco politician who also killed inside his cell.
Dela Rosa clarified that they didn’t gave the award to Espenido because his team killed the alleged Ozamiz narco politicians.
“Hindi pa nangyari yung Ozamiz incident, kasama na si Espenido sa list of awardees for his accomplishments sa drug operations sa Albuera at Ozamiz. Significantly nag-drop ‘yung drug activities sa Ozamiz dahil sa kanyang pamumuno,” he said.
Espenido became the most performing cop in region 10 in 2017 despite of just being newly installed there according to PRO10 website.
