“Director Cathy Garcia-Molina holds fundraiser to buy 100 laptops for deserving students”

Pakpak ng Pangarap is a celebrity auction headed by director Cathy Garcia-Molina in order to raise funds to buy 100 laptops for deserving students all over the country.

With the pandemic affecting everyone including students who are burdened with the extra and costly requirements of long-distance learning, director Cathy Garcia-Molina along with her group Nickl Entertainment aims to raise funds to purchase 100 laptops for deserving students. They are mounting a special fundraising auction called “Pakpak ng Pangarap,” on October 31, Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (Philippine Time).

Oh my God how I wish Filipino artists could be paid this much. So nag-launch kami ng fundraising. I asked for the help of all my celebrity friends spearheaded by direk Olive Lamasan, sila Bea (Alonzo) sila yung mga umoo na mag-donate ng items nila na yun din ang ibebebenta natin on that day. And then I asked for the help of our celebrity friends na magbigay ng konting entertainment sa ating mga manunuod kasi ticketed event siya,” she said.

The event will feature performances from Cathy’s friends in showbiz which include Mr. Pure Energy Gary Valenciano, Darren Espanto, Inigo Pascual, Kakai Bautista, Frenchie Dy, and Thor. So you have to give me proof that these are yours.’ So si Alden nagpadala na ng video sa akin with the invitation so any time after tonight i-po-post ko na so that they know and abangan na nila,” she shared.

Among the celebrity items available for auction are Alden Richards’s autographed sneakers and Angel Locsin’s designer bag. Other kindhearted stars who have also generously donated personal items include Bea Alonzo, Piolo Pascual, Vice Ganda, Kathryn Bernardo, Daniel Padilla, Jennylyn Mercado, Dingdong Dantes, Ria Atayde, Jeffrey Tam, Joross Gamboa, Gary Valenciano, and director Olivia Lamasan.

Aside from bidding on items during the event, direk Cathy shared the other ways people can help show support after buying the P99 ticket to attend the event. “There are different ways to help. There is straight donation which will lead you to winning some items. Two is auction, pero there are two kinds of auction, the silent auction and the public auction. The silent auction is done ahead of time when the items are posted in advance on all of Nickl’s social media pages and KTX.ph and people can bid immediately. These are private bids. On the day of the event, the highest bidder gets it. The public auction is highly interactive. But this is a ticketed event so without the tickets you cannot watch the show and you cannot participate in all forms of purchasing. ,” she explained.
