“Director Cathy Garcia-Molina on directing a sequel to ‘Hello, Love, Goodbye’: ‘Anything is possible’”

Director Cathy Garcia-Molina talks about her working relationship with Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards.

With her movie Hello, Love, Goodbye a blockbuster hit here and abroad, director Cathy Garcia-Molina said it was not that difficult to shoot in Hong Kong with a smaller Filipino crew. Maybe because kokonti lang kami so wala kang aasahan. Na obliga kang kumilos so mas mabilis. Gusto ko nga gawin uli eh. Record ko ‘to ah. Biruin mo yun. My God, nakatipid sila (laughs),” she shared.

Even the post-production work done in Thailand was not a problem for the veteran director. “19 days kami sa Bangkok, Thailand kasi iba sila magtrabaho. Medyo suwerte sila kasi otso oras. My God sa atin wala yun. Walang otsong tulog eh (laughs). Nakita niyo yung Central (in Hong Kong) di ba? In real life, sobrang ingay nun. Marami akong na-save. And tuwang tuwa kami dun,” she recalled.

After the successful onscreen pairing of Alden Richards and Kathryn Bernardo, direk Cathy shared she is now more familiar with their capabilities. “Si Alden hindi ko talaga diniktahan. Si Kathryn kasi and some actors that I’ve worked with, I know them already.

Direk Cathy also clarified that she and Kathryn did not have a fight on the set. Di ba pag mahal niyo ang isa’t isa mas nag-aaway kayo?” she added.

As for the possibility of the love story between Ethan and Joy having a sequel, direk Cathy said she is open to directing her two lead stars again. “Well I’m not closing my doors. Anything is possible always. In all of my films, kung gustong dugtungan puwede naman. But tingnan natin pagbalik ko. But definitely not before I leave,” she admitted.
