President Rodrigo Duterte has designated Peace Process Adviser Carlito Galvez Jr. as the chief implementer of the government’s response to the coronavirus pandemic in the country, Malacañang said on Thursday.
In a memorandum signed by Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea by order of the President on March 24, Galvez was designated as the “Philippines’ chief implementer against Covid-19.”
Galvez’s job is to ensure the strict compliance and adherence of everyone to the guidelines and protocols issued by the Inter-agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases.
He was likewise tasked to protect and promote the safety and welfare of the public at all times.
Galvez, former chief of staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, was also directed to ensure the efficient and expeditious distribution of government assistance to the public, especially to those who are “in most need.”
