Elsy Wameyo Announces National ‘Nilotic’ Tour Dates

Fresh from the release of her debut Nilotic EP back in April, Nairobi-born, Adelaide-based singer, rapper, and producer, Elsy Wameyo, has announced a national run of tour dates.

Hitting the road with her seven-piece band, Wameyo will serve as the first time that many fans have had the chance to hear the songs from her Nilotic EP in their entirety.

Having released the EP on 1st April, her first collection of work comes three years after Wameyo first started sharing her music with the world.

Described as both a journey of spirituality and personal growth, Nilotic takes its name from the Kenyan tribes from which Wameyo’s heritage is traced to, and sees the Adelaide-based artist aiming to process the frustration and sadness of the world through her music.

Kicking off on 5th August, Elsy Wameyo will begin her tour with a hometown show at Adelaide’s The Lab, before visiting Melbourne’s Northside Records for a free show on 6th August. An appearance is also scheduled for the Darwin Festival on 19th August, while Wameyo will also perform two sets at Sydney’s Phoenix Central Park on 15th September, with tickets available via a ballot system.
