Celebrated Filipino fashion designer Ito Curata passed away on Thursday night. He was 60.
A veteran in the fashion industry for more than 30 years and famous for his bridal gowns and Filipiniana creations, Curata died of pneumonia complications arising from coronavirus disease.
According to a report of Lifestyle Asia magazine, he was confined for a week at the Asian Hospital and Medical Center before he succumbed to the illness.
Curata was with his partner Bob Miller who was also being treated for pneumonia.
Before establishing his brand in the Philippines and abroad, the designer took up Liberal Arts at the University of San Francisco and at the Academy of Art College.
His clients ranged from entertainment figures in the Philippines to Hollywood actress Sharon Stone and former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
