CORDON, Isabela—A former town councilor was killed while his three companions were hurt in an ambush on Friday afternoon in barangay (village) Turod Norte, here, police said.
Investigators said the shooting happened around 4:15 p.m. when armed men on board an SUV fired at the vehicle of Jose Bugbog, killing him and wounding three of his passengers.
The SUV tailed Bugbog’s car when the former councilor and his friends left Tanggal village where they attended a meeting.
Bugbog was declared dead on arrival at the hospital due to multiple gunshot wounds. /jpv
