Korina Sanchez expresses her gratitude to ABS-CBN for supporting her career as a news anchor and television host for more than three decades.

Korina Sanchez took to social media to express her gratitude to her home network ABS-CBN anew for supporting her career as a news anchor and television host for more than three decades.

“Wherever I am now and wherever I’ll be, I am and will always be, hugely, a product of ABS-CBN,” said Korina in an Instagram post on Wednesday, September 16.

Wherever I am now and wherever I’ll be, I am and will always be, hugely, a product of ABSCBN. From 23 years old (practically just graduated from school) to just very recently, I was one of those very first on-air when the dictatorship toppled, democracy was restored and the network reopened in 1987. And till the day it shut down in 2020 I was still frontlining. So many parts of the world I traveled, so many people I met and learned from, so many stories I was entrusted to tell, so many battles and even more memorable victories, so many opportunities to be of service to others — because of ABSCBN. My experiences, my knowledge, my exposure, my life grew with the network through more than 30 years working with the men and women who are ABSCBN. The Lopez Family and all my superiors from then till now had given me all the space to grow, contribute, make mistakes and then grow more. ❤️💚💙

On May 5, the National Telecommunications Commission shut down ABS-CBN’s free TV and radio operations after its franchise was left to expire on May 4 despite a long-pending application for a renewal at the House of Representatives.

On July 10, the Committee on Legislative Franchises denied the network’s franchise bid, resulting in its closure and the retrenchment of thousands of ABS-CBN employees.

In her post, Korina again thanked the Lopez family and the management for giving her the opportunity to be of service to others.

Recently, it was announced that Rated K will return as Rated Korina online. The program will stream Sundays at 6:45 p.m. on Facebook. It will also return via a blocktime agreement with TV5.
