MANILA, Philippines –The Manila Metropolitan Trial Court Branch 6 ordered the release of the owner of WellMed Dialysis Center, tagged in the Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (Philhealth) “ghost” dialysis treatments, after posting bail on Saturday.
In a text message to INQUIRER.net, Atty. Rowell Ilagan, WellMed legal counsel, said Bryan Christopher Sy already posted P72,000 bail for cases of estafa through falsification of official documents.
Despite the release order, Ilagan said the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) still placed Sy under its custody.
“He posted a cash bail bond in the amount of P72,000. Despite the release order issued by the court, the NBI refused to release Bryan Sy,” Ilagan said. (Editor: Jonathan P. Vicente)
