Suspected drug pusher hurt in Batangas shootout

SAN PEDRO CITY –– Police recovered 19 plastic sachets of suspected “shabu” (crystal meth) in a buy-bust operation in Sto. Tomas City in Batangas province, a report said on Thursday.

The arrested suspect was identified as Winnie Villavicencio.


According to a police report, the buy-bust happened around 4 p.m. Wednesday in Barangay Sta. Clara.

Villavicencio reportedly attempted to resist arrest by shooting at the police officers, who returned fire and hit him in the hip and leg.


The suspect was taken to the St. Cabrini Medical Center for treatment.

Aside from the suspected shabu, police also recovered a gun and a bolo from Villavicencio. Maricar Cinco/lzb
