Popular Korean actor Song Joong Ki’s much anticipated big screen comeback is fast approaching with the announcement of its official release date.
Song Joong Ki stars in the film Space Sweepers, which will open in cinemas in South Korea on September 23. He plays the role of space pilot Tae Ho.
Set in the year 2029, Space Sweepers tells the story of the crew of a junk collector ship named ‘The Victory.’ Its cast include actress Kim Tae Ri (Mr. Sunshine), Jin Seon Kyu (Kingdom) and Yoo Hae Jin (Three Meals A Day) and is helmed by director Jo Sung Hee.

Song Joong Ki’s last movie was The Battleship Island in 2017.
Aside from a comeback film, he is also said to be considering a new drama tentatively titled Vincenzo for Korean cable channel TvN.
Meanwhile, the actor denied dating anew last June. His agency, History D&C, said the rumors surrounding him are nothing but groundless rumors.
“Song Joong Ki’s dating rumors are not true. There have been groundless rumors spreading within the legal industry, but upon checking, it was not true,” said the source as translated by South Korean entertainment news site Soompi.
Song Joong Ki, who married his “DOTS” co-star Song Hye Kyo in 2017, officially became divorced in 2019.
